Have you ever found something that you bought so long ago and absolutely LOVED but since then, it has either been deemed “uncool” or it isn’t the hottest style anymore? In enters this khaki Ralph Lauren Polo hat. A bit 18 year old fraternity boy? Maybe. But when I found this hat in my closet, I immediately felt obligated to make something new out of this old favorite. Plus, I got this hat in like middle school so it’s basically vintage by now anyway, right?
While this outfit is a bit 90’s, I personally feel like there isn’t anything wrong with occasionally going back in time and paying ode to those favorite items you used to rock. (Peep the silver belt chain. Oh yeah, the 90’s are back in full force people.)
Aside from repeating clothing from decades past, what else can be said for nostalgia? I honestly love looking back and sharing the things I can remember loving while growing up. Whether it be watching Boy Meets World every Friday Night on ABC, flipping out every time a new Mary-Kate and Ashley movie was released, or screaming lyrics to Smashmouth’s “All Star”, the 90’s/early 2000’s holds some of my best memories. And no, a simple “vintage” polo hat may not mean much to most people, but for me, it’s a reminder of who I was then, who I am now, and that still, to this day, I vow to remain true to myself and the things I love.
Until next time, xx.
